"We exist not for ourselves but to love God, and make God's love known."

Two worship services: 9:00am and 10:30am

Dear Community Presbyterian Church Family & Guests,

As we continue to adjust to the changing circumstances we want to keep you informed about what's going on here at CPC.

Our worship times are 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The 9:00 a.m. worship service will meet in the Fellowship Hall and is conducted in a more modern, blended style. The 10:30 a.m. worship in the sanctuary will be our traditional service. While there would be few changes in the worship style, it is important for us to remember that worship of God is not a stagnant, business-as-usual experience but one that is fresh, alive, and challenging each week.

The 9:00 a.m. worship in Fellowship Hall will differ significantly from the 10:30 a.m. service. Where before the two services have been identical except for the music offerings, this new service will engage worshipers in a variety of ways, calling on all our senses to hear and respond to God and God’s word for us. The service will also invite us to experience God’s presence through one another in a number of ways each week. All the elements of worship will play a part in this service—prayer, affirmation of faith, scripture, sermon—but they may look or sound different from week to week. Music will, of course, be a major part of our worship time—both listening to others as well as singing together. No printed bulletins will be prepared; any of the acts of worship we need to participate in will be on the screen. In a way, this worship time will present a surprise each week because it will not follow a set order or pattern as in the past. There will continue to be an element for children at both services.

Whether it be at 9:00 or 10:30, each service will be carefully and prayerfully crafted to allow God to speak to us and to allow us to speak with each other in faith and with love so come ready to encounter God in surprising ways!
