Kirsten Foyles

Kirsten Ellefson Foyles directs the PAWS (Praise and Worship Skills) worship arts program for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade as well as the Youth Worship Team for youth in grades 6-12. Kirsten holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin and a law degree from the University of Louisville. She received certification from the Choristers Guild Institute as a Director of Young Singers in July 2015, and has completed 2 years of a 4-year program for Kodály Certification and a Master’s Degree in Music Education through the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University Maryland, with expected graduation in 2019.

 

Kirsten is a lawyer by trade but has enjoyed working with the children of CPC for over ten years. Kirsten and Terri Sinclair (Director of Music) share a passion for creative and multigenerational use of music in worship, and together published a worship planning book entitled Raising the Bar Line: Engaging Congregations Through Experiential Music and Worship Arts and have presented at multiple conferences on the topic.

 

Kirsten lives in Southern Pines with her husband, Jody Foyles, and three daughters who are active members of the Youth Worship Team at CPC and share her love of music.
