Kirsten Foyles

Kirsten Ellefson Foyles was born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin and is a proud alum of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kirsten also holds a law degree from the University of Louisville and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Loyola University Maryland. She holds Kodály certification from the American Kodály Institute and is certified as a Director of Young Singers through the Choristers Guild Institute. Kirsten directs the CPC Adult Choir and PAWS children’s choir at CPC as well as a handbell ensemble.
Kirsten has published a book and numerous articles on topics related to music ministry in national journals and has been an invited clinician for children and youth choirs and fine arts camps. She has also presented workshops on Creative and Intergenerational Worship, Copyright Law for Church Musicians, and Kodály-Inspired Children’s Church topics at both regional and national conferences including ACDA and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians Worship & Music Conference in Montreat, NC. Kirsten has been involved in music leadership at Community Presbyterian Church since 2007 and serves the greater church as a Board Member for the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
She lives in Southern Pines with her husband, Jody Foyles and has three daughters who share her love of music.
