Your Interim Pastor Nominating Committee is pleased to announce that our Session has approved the hiring of Reverend Dr. Dave Kivett to be the Interim Pastor for an initial contract of one-year effective June 15th, 2026.

 

Pastor Dave is relocating to North Carolina from the Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church, located in Cedar Falls Iowa where he has served as Senior Pastor & Head of Staff for the past 11 years. Prior to this Pastor Dave served as an Interim Pastor in Chattanooga Tennessee, Senior Pastor & Head of Staff in Tucker Georgia and Reidsville North Carolina, and Associate Pastor in Kentucky. Pastor Dave graduated from the University of Georgia (BBA Economics) and Union Presbyterian Seminary (D. Min).

 

Pastor Dave and his wife Beth are building a home in Salisbury, North Carolina to be closer to their children and grandson who reside in Asheville and Greensboro. While their permanent home is in Salisbury, Pastor Dave will be renting a home in the Pinehurst area to live in during his pastoral work week schedule.

Pastor Dave has a history of being very involved in his community through organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Human Rights Commission, Sunday Suppers and the NAACP.
