Presbyterian Women's Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,

  • to support the mission of the church worldwide,

  • to work for justice and peace,

  • and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Presbyterian Women (PW) offers women in the church meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women. For more than 200 years Presbyterian women’s groups have strengthened the Presbyterian Church and played a major role in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and witnessing to the promise of God’s kingdom. The PW of Community Presbyterian Church, who have met as Officers and members of PW Circles, have faithfully and devotedly followed these ideals over the years. Our church has benefited from their leadership, offerings, programs, and fellowship.

However, the number of Circles still meeting and women willing and able to provide governance and leadership of the PW has shifted as our culture and church demographics have shifted. After much prayer and discussion, the current PW Board has decided to transition its current Circles into Women’s Bible Studies, under the umbrella of the Discipleship Committee. In this way, our women can continue to meet, study God’s word, and enjoy Christian fellowship without the additional responsibility of local governance and membership in the national PW organization.

When it is safe to meet again in person, we look forward to announcing when these Women’s Bible studies will resume meeting. We look forward to welcoming new women to join us!
